Thursday

It's Thursday lunch time. We woke up to a cool and very breezy morning here in Samfya - the lake had whitecaps. It actually looks like the ocean. We were told we will be taking the boat 35 kilometers across it to the island tomorrow!
We spent a good portion of the monring organizing all the medications for the 4 days of clinic. I helped figure out our standardized dosing for our "formulary" that we will use. We were told by the local clinical officer that about 65% of the people we will see at the clinic will have malaria.
Jacque spent some time with the local school children in their "after school" program. She said she will never complain about how clean her classroom is back home. :-)
The internet cafe is marginal. They had to turn on the generator just to have enough power for us to use it! Not sure we'll be able to share any pictures from here in Samfya, but maybe once we get to Livingstone in a week? Also not sure if we'll be posting much while here in Samfya. Until then, thanks for your prayers!
