We had a very adventurous day yesterday (Wednesday), but somehow I think it is going to pale in comparison to what lies ahead! We had a great night of rest at the guest house in Lusaka. We left about 11am to head to the airport and made a quick stop in a village/compound where the local pastor that accompanied us had his church. It was great to be out among the locals, especially the children. Word spread fast that we were there and many more children came to see us. We enjoyed taking their pictures and then showing them the result on our cameras. I'm so mad at my self for not bringing a Polaroid camera so we could leave them with pictures!

The charter plane ride was great. I have to admit I was a little nervous about this small 12-seater plane, but the ride was very smooth. We flew about 1 hr to the town of Ndola to get more fuel, then a 45 min flight over the Congo to our final destination.

We had a great reunion with our M friends, and Johnston from Kenya!
We made the final 1 hr drive to our home for the next week. It is beautiful here and overlooks a huge lake. We enjoyed a great meal of beef stroganof, fresh avocados, green beens and squash. We had a short meeting about the plans for the week... Today (thurs) we will get organized and Friday morning early, the medical team (5 of us) will head out on a boat to the islands for our medical clinics. They informed us that we will be spending the night out there, so we can maximize our time (daylight hours) to serve them. Should be adventurous indeed! Malaria is a big problem here, and there will be more Mosquitos on the island, so your prayers for our health would be appreciated!! Also for wisdom in treating their physical needs and boldness in addressing their spiritual needs.
The rest of the team will stay behind to help with construction and other projects the M's have for them. We are really praying that in our short time here, we will be able to do exponentially more than time would normally allow.
Hopefully, I can get to the Internet cafe today to post this. May not have another post until we return from the islands Sat night.
